Job Description

Dragonfly Technology is seeking a Mid–Senior DevSecOps / Cloud Engineer to support the DEUS Ex / SPIES mission in Maui, Hawaii and/or Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role blends Kubernetes-centric CI/CD pipeline engineering with secure cloud and hybrid infrastructure operations, supporting mission applications and classified systems across multiple classification levels.


The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically strong, and comfortable operating with moderate autonomy, while still collaborating closely with senior engineers, cybersecurity staff, and government stakeholders.

 

This position requires an active Top Secret (TS) clearance and may include occasional travel to classified facilities based on mission needs.

Primary Responsibilities

DevSecOps & CI/CD Pipelines

  • Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes-based CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD preferred)

  • Develop and maintain pipeline configuration-as-code using YAML and reusable pipeline components

  • Integrate security tooling into pipelines, including:

    • SAST, SCA, and container/image scanning

  • Support branch protection, secrets management, artifact integrity, and supply-chain security practices

  • Assist with automated evidence generation for RMF, POA&Ms, and ATO/C-ATO activities

  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures and deployment issues across hybrid environments

  • Collaborate with developers to remediate findings and improve build and deployment reliability

  • Participate in pipeline design reviews and technical working groups with government customers


Kubernetes & Platform Engineering

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters in cloud and on-prem environments

  • Support Kubernetes application deployment and packaging using:

    • Helm

    • Kustomize

  • Assist with Kubernetes cluster hardening in alignment with DISA STIGs and security baselines

  • Support containerized workloads using Docker / Podman

  • Assist with cluster upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management


Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure

  • Support secure cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructure supporting mission systems

  • Assist with cloud networking components (VPCs, subnets, routing, VPNs, security groups)

  • Support IAM implementation using least-privilege principles

  • Contribute to monitoring, logging, backup, and recovery solutions

  • Assist cybersecurity teams with vulnerability remediation identified through continuous monitoring

  • Contribute to architecture documentation and technical artifacts supporting authorization activities


Team & Program Contributions

  • Operate effectively within classified environments

  • Collaborate closely with senior engineers and technical leads

  • Mentor junior engineers when appropriate

  • Contribute to standard pipeline patterns, Kubernetes practices, and cloud architecture baselines

Required Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance

  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (+3 Years Experience); or

    • 4+ experience in DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related roles

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes-based CI/CD workflows and pipelines

  • Experience deploying or maintaining Kubernetes clusters (cloud and/or on-prem)

  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes deployment and packaging tools (Helm, Kustomize, or equivalent)

  • Experience integrating security tooling into CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience working with Linux systems (RHEL preferred)

  • Familiarity with DoD security environments, including RMF and STIG concepts

  • Ability to work effectively in classified environments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD

  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar) – a plus, not required

  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments

  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)

  • Experience with container security and Kubernetes hardening

  • Prior experience supporting ATO / C-ATO efforts

  • AWS Solutions Architect – Associate or higher

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Salary: $130,000 - $165,000

The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity.

Annual performance-based bonuses are also possible for this position.
